WAC Committee Meeting
November 1, 2005

Attending: Jen Slauson, Rochelle Becker, Lisa Giudici, Lou Bueno, Karlen Howard, Andrea Hoeg, Tara Inghram, Ray Scheve, Perry Young.

Absent: Beth Potts and Lucy Tennant

Meeting Started at 7:00 pm in Room 202 of the Waukee High School

Jen Slauson opened the meeting by saying that the agenda for the meeting should include discussion on the tournament because a decision needs to be made. Rochelle Becker presented all the paperwork she had prepared for last year's tournament. The committee discussed and approved the following:

ASA Tournament
Dates: May 19-21
Tournament Director: Rochelle Becker
Committee Members will head up subgroups to handle various parts of the tournament.

All the other details of the tournament would be handled by various subcommittees.

Perry Young will talk to Matt Jermier about reserving the fields. Jen Slauson will talk to Waukee State Bank and Coke about obtaining 2 more score boards for fields 1 and 3 at Centennial Park. Andrea Hoeg will set up a PO Box for all registration forms and checks that will be sent for the tournament.

Discussions were held regarding the WAC mission statement. Karlen Howard, Lisa Giudici and Lucy Tennant will develop a mission statement with goals/beliefs and present at the next committee meeting.

We finalized the committee director positions and Tara Inghram will post the directors names, phone numbers and email addresses on the WAC website.

Rochelle Becker is the contact person for 3rd Grade Teams.

WAC dues were discussed and Jen Slauson is to come up with an estimate of equipment fees per team so a fee can be set to at a minimum cover the team equipment fees. This will be presented at the next meeting.

The committee discussed equipment needs and Perry Young is to secure the current facility at the Waukee elementary and inventory current equipment. He will provide a list back to Jen Slauson by November 4, 2005.

Fundraising was discussed, and it was thought fundraising may need to be at an overall WAC level rather than at the team level. Otherwise, businesses may get tired of being approached by 10 different teams for donations and such for fundraising activities. It was agreed that sponsors need to be at the team level.
