Warrior
Athletic Club ASA Softball The Warrior Athletic Club (WAC) ASA U8 Developmental Teams are designed to introduce young players to the game, and to begin building the basic skills required to compete, understand, and enjoy playing competitive softball. The players are encouraged to play in the Waukee Recreational Softball League. The developmental teams will be formed after the May 15, 2008 registration deadline. The plan is for the teams to start practicing in May (working around Recreational League schedules), and to play a few games and tournaments after the Recreational Softball League ends in early June. In addition, the WAC offers Fall Ball teams that play games in August and September, which is a great way to sharpen skills for the tryouts for the WAC competitive teams, which have usually been held right after Fall Ball ends in late September/early October. U8 Developmental Team - For players 8 years and younger by January 1st of 2008 (i.e. born in 1999 and after). This level is Coach Pitch. Even though the coaches pitch to the players during games, the players are encouraged to begin pitching at this age to prepare for the move to U10, which is player pitch. The plan is to play scrimmage games against other local U8 teams if available, and play in the U8 State Tournament being held in Des Moines on June 13-15, 2007. Another tournament will also be included. Costs - The registration cost for the WAC Developmental Team is $75 per player. This cost covers the players' ASA Membership & Insurance, a T-Shirt, a Visor and and two tournament registration fees. Fall Ball is a separate fee to be paid with registration in July. Residency - To be eligible to participate on one of the ASA teams you must reside within; or attend a school within; the Waukee School District.

Fall
Ball - Registration for Fall Ball 2008 takes place in July.
Fall Ball games are double-headers played on Saturdays and Sundays
at the end of August and through September at diamonds around the
area, such as Urbandale, Ankeny, West Des Moines, Indianola, etc.
You can visit the Mid-Iowa Girls' Softball website at migsoftball.org
for more information. The WAC forms teams for existing WAC players
at the 10U, 12U and 14U levels. It is recommended if you are required
to move up a level next spring due to your age (i.e. U10 to U12),
you should play up this fall to get used to the rule changes and
the different playing level. The teams for Fall Ball 2007 will be
formed using these birth years:
