WAC Expenses (as of 2/2007)

*Insurance - The cost of the ASA Membership/Insurance is $11 per player for 2007. In addition, the WAC purchases Directors & Officers Liability insurance which currently costs $385 per year.

*WAC Practice Field, Batting Cage & Pitching Machine - This past fall, new surface material was added to the practice field. In the spring, additional surface material will need to be added. We had to repair the batting cage last year. The pitching machines, which are expensive, and balls need to be replaced occasionally.

*Equipment - The WAC currently provides the following equipment for each WAC team: Catcher's Equipment, Tees, Instant Screens, Practice Balls, Game Balls, Wiffle Balls, Equipment Storage Bags, First Aid Kits, Ice Packs... Each year practice balls, game balls, first aid kits and a lot of ice packs need to be purchased. Other equipment is replaced as it is worn out.

*Coaching Clinics - The WAC pays the instructors for the Coaching Clinics.

*Player Clinics - The WAC pays the instructors for occasional free WAC Player clinics for pitching, defense & hitting.

*Miscellaneous Expenses - We have the usual expenses of running an organization - bank fees, P.O. Box fee, copies, postage, etc.. We just spent a one-time fee of $750 to file Form 1023 with the IRS to obtain our Tax-Exempt status. We are planning to donate some money to the Get Wyrd (www.getwyrd.org) organization as seed money to help them with their campaign to get a Sports Complex in Waukee. The complex will include softball diamonds which will benefit our program, and all of Waukee Softball, tremendously.

Any money left over after these expenses, along with proceeds from the WAC tournament and other WAC fundraisers (scrapbooking events, T-shirt/Sweatshirt sales....) is kept in the WAC bank account to put towards our share of the future Sports Complex.
